This module aims to provide an introduction to mentoring for teachers in primary and post-primary schools.
It will serve as an initial education to develop participants’ knowledge about mentoring and capacities to mentor.
The module will include an overview of the relevant national policy context; international research and theoretical underpinnings of mentoring for teachers at initial, induction and in-service career stages (ITE, Droichead, Cósan), with a specific focus on co-operating teachers working with student teachers during school placement. students engaged in learning can be one of the hardest things to do while you are teaching.
